Batangas City became the epicenter of technology and innovation last November 21–22, 2025, as the Philippine Innovation Conference 2025 (PIC 2025) gathered students, entrepreneurs, and industry leaders for two days of forward-thinking discussions, workshops, and competitions. With its theme TATAK FUTURE, the conference showcased the transformative power of Artificial Intelligence (AI), Blockchain, and Cybersecurity (ABCs)—equipping Filipinos not just to anticipate the future, but to actively shape it.

Hosted by the University of Batangas (UB) in collaboration with OpenVerse, a tech non-profit advancing Filipino-led innovation, and Web3 Bulacan, a regional Web3 hub, PIC 2025 delivered an immersive experience for more than 800 attendees. Participants engaged in keynotes, panels, and hands-on sessions with innovators and local tech champions pushing boundaries in Batangas and beyond.

This milestone event was made possible through the strong support of the regional directors of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Department of Science and Technology (DOST), and Department of Information and Communications Technology Region 4A (DICT 4A). The active participation of Mr. Mark Sultan Gersava, Executive Cabinet Member of the National Innovation Council, underscored the shared commitment of local and national institutions to strengthen innovation and build a skilled, future-ready workforce.

One of the major highlights of the conference was the Hack the Future: Smart Batangas Province Hackathon, where participants developed solutions designed to make Batangas smarter, safer, and more connected. Using design thinking, AI-assisted coding, and Solidity smart contracts on Polkadot, interdisciplinary teams created innovations addressing governance, the environment, transportation, disaster response, tourism, and more.

PIC 2025 reinforced a powerful message: “The future doesn’t wait, and neither should we.” This year’s conference brought together aspirants, innovators, thinkers, and doers—transforming ideas into tangible solutions that advance the innovation story of Batangas, the Philippines, and beyond.

PIC 2025 marked a significant step in positioning Batangas as a rising player in the global tech landscape, leaving attendees inspired and empowered to shape the next chapter of Filipino innovation.
